BARTON PROVIDES KEY POSITIVE INJURY NEWS

Bristol Rovers manager Joey Barton has revealed that his side will be looking forward to welcoming back as many as three injured players back to the squad. He disclosed that he could now be having the services of Alfie Kilgour, Alex Rodman, and Josh Grant back to the squad before their match against Northampton after the trio suffered injuries that have kept them out of first-team duties for a while.

Following their win over Doncaster Rovers in their Easter Monday clash, they sounded a reminder that they are fully in the running to finish the season without getting relegated. The win saw them climb up to 21st position in the table as all the five teams around then all suffered losses.

Northampton are currently two points and only two positions (23rd) over Barton’s men ahead of the meeting between the two clubs on Saturday and victory for any of the two teams could define their season or determine whether or not they will be avoiding the drop. Both teams will now be looking forward to out in all of their best in the match so they can come out of the tie as winners.

Joey Barton will be expected to retain the team that won their clash on Easter Monday instead of trying to make rotations, as he would also be looking to act carefully in order to secure a safe League One finish for his side. The manager could welcome back Kilgour, Rodman, and Grant to the side, as confirmed by him.

The manager said the club would be needing all players to come together and try to put in all their efforts to secure more wins in their bid to push for a continued League One stay instead of suffering relegation.

He said he is hoping that Rodman and Grant are expected to be joined by Kilgour in returning for their clash on Saturday, and it is a big relief to him.
