QPR midfielder Joey Barton has sensationally claimed that Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney is not world class as people perceive him to be. Rooney recently signed a new contract worth around £ 300,000 per week, which has clearly made him the best player in the English Premier League.

However, Barton, who has played with the likes of Manchester city and Newcastle United in the past, claims that Rooney does not deserve this contract and he is also not world class as people think of him. This sensational comment has attracted a lot of press.

QPR midfielder Joey Barton has found themselves at the end of another fiasco after he was allegedly involved in a bust up with his teammate Clint Hill. The former Newcastle United man has a history of getting into trouble quite easily both on and off the field.

However, he has been a major reason towards QPR’s push for promotion this campaign. Even though the club’s form has faltered in recent weeks, Barton still remains an important player at the club. However, his future has been thrown into doubt yet again after he has allegedly been involved in a bust up with Clint.

Former England international Joey Barton has launched a scathing attack on several aspects like the England national team, English FA chairman Greg Dykes, and former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

Barton is known for having an open attitude towards several aspects, which has often landed him in hot water. It remains to be seen if his latest comments will do the same. Just before the crucial World Cup qualifying matches, he has said that the English national team is one of the worst he has ever seen.

QPR midfielder Joey Barton is thought to be demanding £ 3 million in order to terminate his contract with the Championship club. Barton was one of the big names to arrive at Loftus Road following the arrival of Tony Fernandes as the new owner.

He was signed a contract worth £ 70,000 per week, which would be unsustainable if the club was to get relegated into the championship. Even before that happened, Barton’s QPR career was over after a series of off and on pitch incidents. He spent the last season at Marseille on a season-long loan deal.

However, he was expected to be back into the QPR training regime yesterday since he still had two years left on his contract. Manager Harry Redknapp has revealed that the information was sent to the midfielder, but he has not turned up for training. Barton is believed to have held talks with the QPR board about leaving the club on a permanent basis. His relationship with the board is thought to be beyond repair. It would cost QPR in the region of £ 7 million to keep him for the remainder of his contract, but Barton is thought to be ready on a £ 3 million payoff to leave the club permanently.

“Joey Barton was sent the same information as every other player. That was to report for training on Monday. We haven’t seen him. I don’t follow Twitter so I don’t know what’s going on. He wants to go to Marseille and he did very well there last year, but he’s got two years left of his deal here. I think he’s looking for the club to give him a payday here and then he’ll go. I don’t know how it’s all going to end,” said Redknapp about the absence of Barton from training.

Joey Barton has criticized Queens Park Rangers management for the poor performance of the team in the ongoing Premier League season.

Barton is a contracted player of QPR, but, he hasn’t played for them this season. He was placed on loan to Marseille at the start of the season.

QPR’s performance in the Premier League this season has been disastrous and after their goalless draw against Reading FC on Sunday, it’s now certain that they will end up in the relegation zone.

The Rangers have so far played 35 Premier League matches this season and has managed to win just 4 out of them. They have lost 18 times and have played 13 draws. They just have 25 points at the moment.

However, QPR is not at the bottom of the points table. It’s Reading FC which is at the bottom on the basis of goal difference. But, that’s not going to make any difference really.

When asked about QPR’s poor performance in the ongoing Premier League, Barton said, “I am really disappointed, but, I think the kind of composition we have got, we can’t do better than this. We don’t have enough quality in the squad. There are a few good players, but, the rest are maggots.”

“Most of these maggots were brought into the side by Mark Hughes who I think should be blamed the most for what has happened to QPR. He didn’t manage the team well at all in the first half of the season.”

“After the match against Reading, I saw Bosingwa having a bit of laugh. It was baffling to see. You don’t expect this from a dedicated player.”

“It’s really heart breaking for the fans. They have turned up every game and the team has let them down most of the time.”

The manager of Olympique de Marseille, Elie Baup, has said that the red card shown to Joey Barton in the last match against Nancy was the turning point of the match.

Barton was shown two yellow cards in the space of five minutes in the second half of the match against Nancy and the English midfielder had to go out of the field. The score was 0-0 till that time. But, after the departure of Barton, the Marseille team came under pressure and eventually lost the match by 0-1.

Talking to the reporters in the press conference after the match, Baup said, “Both the teams were playing well till that time, but, after Barton was sent off, we were left with only 10 players and things started getting difficult for us.”

“I think Barton was a bit unlucky. On the first occasion, he was shown the yellow card without a foul. I don’t think there was a foul there. On the second occasion, he was just trying to take the ball in his possession. So, both his yellow cards were not fully justified.”

Barton who was also present in the press conference said that he was gutted to be sent off at that time. The English midfielder said, “That was a critical time. We were playing well and creating opportunities, but, after being reduced to 10 players, it became difficult for us to attack.”

“I want to apologize to the players of my team. I let them down today. If I had not been sent off, the result of the match might have been different.”

Barton was placed on loan to Marseille at the start of the ongoing season. He has featured for the French club in 9 matches so far, but, he hasn’t scored any goal.
