Barton Believes QPR Deserved Victory

Queens Park Rangers recently defeated Wigan Athletic as they locked horns and battled each other in the Championship semifinals and the team of Harry Redknapp came out on top with a scoreboard of 2-1.

Joey Barton believes that QPR deserved their victory as they now have to get ready for the finals against Derby County on May 24.

The 31-year-old told Sky Sports: ‘’we have had a lot of pointers about how hard it was going to be. Credit to Wigan they’re a very good side and its sad there has to be a loser but we roll on. Over the two legs I think we slightly shaded it’’.

Barton continued on by saying: ‘’It was a transition period after a terrible year in the Premier League last year. We’ve built a band of brothers. We are building a group of men together, a band of brothers; it’s been a slow process. The gaffer spotted that their diamond was causing us problems and we sorted it.”
‘’The players deserve it. They’ve worked their socks off. We can get excited tonight but then you come back down to earth and prepare for Wembley’’ Barton stated.

Joey Barton’s career has been filled with a number of controversial and disciplinary incidents as the English midfielder encountered problems which have led him to imprisonment for 6 months as well as being charged with violent conduct on 3 instances by the Football Association due to some of his actions which has seen him punching and attacking players a few years ago.

Despite all of the disciplinary problems that Joey Barton has gone through, Harry Redknapp revealed that the 31 years old player would make an excellent manager.

Redknapp told Starsport: “I’m sure he will be an excellent manager. He knows the game well, just like most midfield players. He’s got a good understanding of football and I think he will do very well.”
